Our next Dinner Debate will take place in the Princess Louise Room at the Oxford and Cambridge Club, 71 Pall Mall, London, SW1Y 5HD on Thursday 25 April 2024 at 7.00 pm for 7.30 pm dinner (Dress Code: Lounge Suit).

This year we are honoured to have Stephanie Harrison KC of Garden Court Chambers as our Guest Speaker. She will speak on the UK Government’s plan to send asylum seekers to Rwanda, the legal challenges to this plan, and the implications for the rule of law.

Stephanie Harrison KC has had a prominent career in immigration and public law spanning over 30 years and was awarded silk in 1991. She was appointed as Legal Counsel to the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) in 2015 and served as Joint Head of Chambers at Garden Court between 2020 and 2023. Some of her most notable work includes successfully challenging the legality of the Detained Fast Track Asylum System leading to its suspension and an admission by the UK Government that the process was unfair and in breach of the Equality Act 2010 and more recently, being part of the Garden Court Brook House Inquiry Team investigating the mistreatment of those detained in the immigration removal centre in 2017.

The Debate will be preceded by a Reception and Dinner, following which the debate will be open to all.
