BILA Award 2020

The British Italian Law Association is pleased to launch the BILA Award for Italian law students. The aim of the prize is to encourage students of Italian Universities with interests in the British legal system to explore relevant themes and topics by researching, considering and developing an argument in a short essay written in English about any matter of law in particular with regard to cross-border legal practice issues This year students are asked to write an essay on the following topic:

“A comparison of the concepts of domicile and residence in the UK and Italian systems”.

London Legal Walk 2020 & 10,000 Steps for Justice

The London Legal Support Trust invited BILA members to sign up as a team (even of one) to the London Legal Walk 2020.

You will be automatically enrolled to take part in ‘10,000 Steps for Justice’, a virtual event on the 8th June to coincide with the main Walk on the 5th October.

BILA’s Committee has approved the calendar of BILA events which will take place in the first half of 2020:

 11 May 2020 - Talk on immigration and Brexit (postponed - date TBC)

 4/5 June 2020 - Seminar in Milan on cross-border succession

 27 June 2020 - Opera in Holland Park (Rigoletto) (cancelled)

 16 July 2020 - Pizza evening

15 October 2020 - Dinner Debate at the Oxford & Cambridge Club

11 November 2020 - Talk on Cryptocurrencies at Withers LLP
